WHO GOT YOU INTO BOXING AND WHY?: Started at my local gym doing boxing fitness classes. Was encouraged by the instructor to pursue the sport rather than just doing fitness classes. Eventually “gave in” to his suggestion and hassling each week and started doing some training at my local PCYC club and fell in love with the sport.

ODD SPORTING FACT ABOUT YOU (OTHER SPORTING INTERESTS OR AWARDS?): I played netball competitively (state league and reps) until after high school. I also danced up until that age (jazz, ballet and contemporary). Yes think makeup, crazy hairstyles, fishnet tights and performing at eisteddfods most weekends!

WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING IF NOT BOXING: Hahaha maybe be married and have a baby like the rest of my friends!!! Lol! Nah, in all seriousness I’d like to pursue a career as a firefighter.

WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU: My health, family, friends and being happy.

THE MOST MEMORABLE WIN YOU EVER HAD: Qualifying through to the world championship finals in Kazakhstan (2016).

WHAT IS IT YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE IN THE SPORT: I want to become the best boxer I can be. In 2018 my major goals are to medal at both the Commonwealth Games and later in the year at the World Championships.

FINISH THE SENTENCE: “If I win gold, I will… probably start crying! Then I’m gonna float around on top of the world for the next few weeks!!! Guaranteed that I’ll have a celebratory party night out with the team that evening.
